Navigating Expectations: A Journey of Mindful Reflection
How I've learned to cherish the simplicity of life's unexpected twists and turns, finding beauty in the imperfections and surprises along the way.
Hi Friends, Happy Friday!
Walking outdoors has become my go-to for clearing my head, or as my teacher says, "clearing the clutter," and releasing those happy endorphins. Especially in the morning when the streets are quiet and the world is just waking up, it's the perfect time for a leisurely stroll.
Speaking of walks, I've been in London for the past few days, soaking in the sights and sounds. I spoke at the World Happiness Summit and had a little book signing, connected with incredible people and listened to inspiring speakers. But you know, every time I visit a new city, especially alone, I have this tendency to build it up in my mind as this grand adventure, only to find myself longing for home once I'm there. Does that ever happen to you?
Before I dive into today's story, I have some exciting updates to share. My dear friend Sah D'Simone is on The Radically Loved Podcast today, discussing his new book "Spiritually, We: The Art of Relating and Connecting from the Heart." You can listen [Here] on Spotify, or Watch it on YouTube [Here].

Now, let's get back to the story.
I once booked a trip to Santa Fe, NM, for a writing retreat, envisioning it as this luxurious escape to fuel my creativity. But upon arrival, the energy felt off, and I found myself in a different headspace than expected. Also, the hotel I orignally booked was haunted, but that’s another story. Anway, this feeling is something I've discussed with Torry extensively—this tendency to build things up in my mind, only to be met with disappointment. It's almost like I'm addicted to the letdown, even though it's unintentional. Can you relate?
